Latest Book Review: Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

What a dream of a book! In fact, for most of the book, I thought the title should have been "The Circus of Dreams" which is the name of the circus in the story. Is it a highly imaginative tale, spun out beautifully through many different vantage points, jumping through time, and confusing the reader with alternate points of view so as to put you as in the shoes of the patrons of the circus by being swept away by possibility.
The story focuses on a traveling magic circus with the underlying theme of a competition between two charges who don't know each other or understand the competition they have been thrust into. Peppered with magical phrases that make you reminisce of Harry Potter, this book is for those who want to believe in the extraordinary. Wonderfully described, you will become caught up in the story, racing to finish it to find out what happens, then sad when the book ends and the world you have entered is gone. If you are like me, this is a book you will read over and over.
Recommend it? Yes, highly! It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy magic, fate, and the supernatural, this book is for you.
